More about ReadySetRead:

The 2016 US Dept of Education report titled "Foundational Skills to Support Reading for Understanding in K-3rd Grade" outlined 4 recommendations for teachers to aide them in accomplishing this goal. You can see the report here.

ReadySetRead focuses on helping students achieve the goals defined in recommendations 2 and 4:

Recommendation 2: Develop awareness of segments of sounds in speech and how they link to letters.

Recommendation 4: Ensure that each student reads connected text every day to support reading accuracy, fluency, and comprehension.

Each of the 132 individual lessons in ReadySetRead contain word activities that create the opportunity for students to learn letter/sound associations as well as practice segmenting and blending those sounds into words. Additionally each lesson ends with the opportunity to read a connected text. What is a connected text? It is a text which features the sound that is being focused on for that lesson. Students may either read the text to themselves and progress through the story, or tap the picture on the page and the text will be read for them, the individual words highlighted as they are read.

ReadySetRead is available on the App Store for only $3.99. When ordered by a school, it is available for $1.99 per device.
